Default Run FTP From Within VPS

I need to import a rather large website. It is currently running on a Unix platform and I would be downloading it directly into a westhost Unix VPS.

Is there an FTP program that I can download into my VPS and run to fetch the old website?

I think you have ftp installed. You also have scp.
But the best way, if possible, is to use rsync.
Or, third alternative, create a tar file on the old server, transfer that and then untar it on WH server.
