    Exclamation Password protect Webalizer?

    I have a reseller account and all my sites/domains have Webalizer password-protected when I first install it.

    However one domain I just setup and then created a Webalizer for does not have the following URL password-protected:

    http://mydomain.com/plugins/Webalizers/admin.php

    How can I protect the domain's Webalizer app? Is it a server error that makes this impossible to do this? I cleared my cookies and loaded in other browsers, and all bring the above URL up without a problem, which means people on the outside can also freely view it, right?

    Anybody can help me?

    Thanks.

    You need to add two files to the directory that you wish to protect:

    .htaccess
    .htpasswd

    Typical content of the .htaccess file is:

    AuthUserFile /www/your_domain/your_directory/.htpasswd
    AuthGroupFile /dev/null
    AuthName Protected
    AuthType Basic
    <Limit GET>
    require valid-user
    </Limit>

    where your_domain and your_directory are as appropriate. The .htpasswd file is created by the htpasswd program that you should have installed. See the man page for htpasswd.

    Thank you for the info. This was actually fixed by WH a few months ago. Because Webalizer is part of the hosting package, they fixed it, and the problem seemed to be with how they setup my VPS. The htaccess should have been automatically created when I installed Webalizer via the control panel, but becasue of a bug it didn't create. All works now though.

    In the "Site Applications" under "Security" you can install "Web Password 1.5" to password protect your Webalizer or any directory that you want to protect.
