    Default Email setup problem

    I seem to be in a bit of a mess.

    I originally setup a domain for test purposes called Everything seemed fine and I set up a deluxe account. I didn't realise that if I wished to host multiple domains they would all fall under the umbrella of Anyway, one of my main domains is called which I have now transferred to Westhost and seems to be working fine. However I cannot get the email side of things to work correctly. I need URGENTLY to be able to receive emails sent to All files have been moved to the following folder :-


    Another problem. The user guide says that to logon to the Site Manager I should use :- (making sure to replace with your domain name).

    If I try it fails. The only way I can get it to work is by doing :-

    (obviously EXAMPLE, SOMETHINGELSE and are not the real domains)

    Please help!

    On the e-mial issue you can set up an email address for info on the SOMETHINGELSE domain as long as you do not have an info account for the EXAMPLE domain. If you do have an info email account for EXAMPLE the any mail sent to info no matter the domains you have well go to it.

    Not sure what the problem is with the log in to EXAMPLE domain. You may need to contact WestHost on that one. I have a client that has a and it works for them.

    BTW there is a thread some place in this section where users where discussing how they could have two "info" email addys for different domains but not sure where it is now.

    As for /manager/ not working, did you just register your domain or make any changes to it? Maybe the changes have not propagated fully yet (which would explain why going to your IP address/manager works).

    :cry: Well I'm not sure how to sort this one out now. The response to my ticket was :-

    "All of your problems are related. THe domain is not pointing to our name servers and that is the problem. You cannot reach the manager page or receive to email to any account unless the main domain is pointed to us properly. Since it sounds like you do not want to use this domain as the main domain I suggest you fill out a domain name change request. This can be done at"

    For some reason I have been unable to transfer-in the domain and don't know how to resolve that. The ISP who currently host it need to know the IPS tag for WestHost. I requested this info via a ticket several days ago and am still waiting.

    The domain name change seems to be the solution for me but for some reason my password needs to be reset before I can access the screen. Again I have raised a ticket but it seems to have gone into a black hole as I haven't heard anyhting for 6 hours.

    Getting V.Urgent as all sales related emails are being lost.

    Not having the name servers changes would cause the problems.

    One way to verify is to go to and enter the domain info.

    This will tell you what your domain sees as its name servers. If they are set for westhost, it should be showing something like or something like that.

    Hello Beefguru,

    I don't know what your domain is and so I have no way to pull up your account and look at it. Let me know what it is and I will take a look. Pretty much doing a whois will tell you where your nameservers are pointed right now. You need to go to where your site is registered and have them switch your name servers to us. Keep us posted on progress.
