    Default CGIemail

    According to the author getting user envirment data is possible in CGIemail using $[env_var].
    When i use the following string in my page:

    <input type=hidden name="env_report" value="$REMOTE_HOST,$REMOTE_ADDR,$HTTP_USER_AGENT" >

    I get nothing back from CGIemail other than:

    env_report: $REMOTE_HOST,$REMOTE_ADDR,$HTTP_USER_AGENT.

    Am I doing something wrong here, or has this been disallowed by westhost?

    I'm just guessing because I never used it, but do you need to put each environment variable in square brackets? According to the first line in your post that's how they should be.

    Torrin is correct you need to include each one you want. Below is the links to the help page for this.

    http://web.mit.edu/wwwdev/cgiemail/user.html#cgienv

    This is a link to Enviroment Variables you can use.

    I am almost sure this is enabled in the WestHost version but pehaps tech will let us know for sure.

    UPDATE: I just re-read the WesHost documentation on cgiemail http://manual.westhost.com/part7.html#cs-cgiemail and it appears that enviromental variables are not available on the WestHost version. You might want to contact tech to see if you could get it enabled.
