Default cPanel / WHM backup : interval vs. complete vs. disk space. What's best?

    Hi,

Recently migrated from Site Manager to CP. Found out the hard way that with CP, Westhost doesn't do the support on site-level backups, only the entire account. SO... now that I'm going to administer that, what's the best option balancing disk space and backup usability?

I want to be able to get 2-3 days worth of backups that I can restore to a file level but don't want to eat up all of my virtual disk space.

    What's everyone's thoughts and experiences?

    Thanks!

Have you seen the documentation on this? http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/vie...s/BackupWizard That might help you decide what you want to do.

The Partial backups may be easier for you to deal with. I doubt your Email Forwarders or Email Filters are going to change that much so you would not really need to do them that often. If you don't use SQL then you could also skip that. Simply back up the home directory then log in via FTP and download the compressed file that was created then delete it. That way you never really fill up your disk space with your back ups.

If you interested in automating things you might want to check this out. http://forums.cpanel.net/f49/automat...hp-111213.html
