Default Help pages for WH 4.0

Just wondering where these may be. I see that we are starting to get questions from users on the Forum who are on WH 4.0 but it is kind of hard for me to help them out since I am still on 3.0. Sorry my memory of working the beta testing is just not that good. If I had access to the documentation for 4.0 it would help some. If nothing else I could direct them to the correct help files. I'll dig around on my own some and see if I can detect them but thought I would ask here.

    Shawn,

Thanks for the suggestion. We are still working on additional documentation for WH 4.0 users. Some of this will end up within the control panel and hopefully we can start to get some additional input from existing WH 4.0 clients here on the forums. In the meantime, I'll pass along word to our technicians and solicit their help more here on the forums.
    Sincerely,

Thanks Clint. I did find the list of "Programs" that are available for install via cPanel so that helps a bit.

I think that Westhost should simply give you a Westhost 4.0 account in appreciation of all the quality advice you give on these forums.

    Default Documentation

I'm trying to move my site from Westhost 3.0 to Westhost 4.0. What I am doing is not unique, but I cannot find the information I need. I have tried opening tickets and starting chats and searching for the information. Each question seems to take 3 days to resolve, for information that should be readily available. This migration is rapidly becoming a huge waste of time.

My current problem is moving a MySql database. I have a database created in 4, I can use PhpMyadmin to view it and create a table in it. I exported the database from 3, but cannot import it. I get a syntax complaint, but can cut the offending statement from the import page and paste it into a run-sql page and run it successfully. Either automate the export-import, or explain it.

In working this problem, I cannot find how to ssh into the new 4 domain. "ssh me@mydomain" points to the 3 servers, how do I get to the 4 server?

Documentation needs to exist if this 4 stuff is going to work. Some framework that can be understood and remembered and extended. Both high level and gritty details need to be available. The Php and MySql documentation are great examples, a wiki may work. But hunt and peck and beg for each bit isn't cutting it.

    DocZ,

We are working on improving documentation for our 4.0 environment. In your case I would recommend calling tech support directly so we can help answer your questions real time.
