    It seems that GMail is receiving the spam emails, but the one that was not accepted and left on the WH server was one of the emails that went full circle (wh to gmail (then denied) and returned to wh). So this problem may only be temporary.

    Whereas I like that the potential of the GMail spam button working better, I don't like the time delay waiting for GMail to pickup versus the forwarded emails.

    No, it's not. You keep confusing viruses/suspicious attachments for spam. You usually get the latter, which is why you're not used to the different way Gmail treats the former.

    This time you're right, but luckily Gmail at least has a manual "pickup" button (inside the relevant settings).
