    Default Permanent Redirect command syntax

    Hi,
I need to add a redirect command to my htaccess file so that anyone using old links to my blog articles will automatically be redirected to the new location.

Previously they were in the http://mysite.com/wordpress folder and they are now in http://mysite.com

This is the command I placed at the top of htaccess:

    RedirectPermanent /wordpress/ http://mysite.com/

It is working for the blog articles but is also redirecting my attempts to access wp-admin
    Thanks,
    Sue

Sounds to me like it is more then just the redirect that you have added that is the issue. Where is your wp-admin located? It is still in a wordpress directory? What else if anything is in the .htaccess file.

    Hi Shawn,
Actually, it is working now, but I had to modify it to specify wildcards for the permalinks to redirect.
    Many thanks,
    Sue
