Default Porno Sites Suddenly Using My Address

I see that there are some permanent and temporary redirects in my stats. I have no idea what I need to do to prevent this.

Would someone please tell what to do to stop the problem--what exactly would I write in and where should I put it??

Besides preventing this in the future, is it possible to change back those redirects?
    Thank you,

    Amy,

How are they being re-directed on your site? If there is some script, you can probably restrict the places that the script can redirect to. It might help to have a few log entries showing the redirections that you are seeing.

I'm not sure how it's occurring. I see these sites listed in the external links section and under "permanent" and "temporary" redirects in my AW stats.

I'm not at all savvy with my web tech. My site was set up by a few different consultants (each one improved on the last one), and they explained the basics, plus I figured out a little more on my own dinking around...

I'd get in touch with support. They can look at your logs and figure out what's up. Without knowing what the redirects are being provided by, it's gonna be hard to figure out how to stop them.

Any of the MIVA users out there know of a redirect script?

There would not be anything you could do about external links that lead to your site since those are on the other sites and controlled by those web administrators. I have a feeling that even the permanent and temporary redirects may simply be links to your site that miva may be redirecting to a new page on your site and not "to" another site.

The most common redirect script would be a .htaccess file in either the main web directory (/var/www/html) or in your miva directory. You can read those files with a plain text editor like Notepad and see if they have references to another site. Even if you don't understand the code used the sites/domains would still be obvious.

This may be what is known as "referrer spam". There may not be much you can do about it.
