Well both are "plug and play" so to speak but all shopping carts have a pretty high learning curve in my opinion. I know you are as picky as I am when it comes to how the output page looks and that is where you can spend quite a bit of time. You should plan on spending lots of time at the site of shopping cart you choose learning how to manipulate the look. :)

Hey shawn

I have a new project to work on, i am making an online store for a car sterio store. i found some great templates from the oscommerce web site. i guess they are a place for online stores to set up, i set up the new domaine and bought space here ( of course). i guess that place comes ready to go. do you ( or anyone else browsinig through) know about if that is a good place to start. i have been learning alot over the past few days about templates and the templates over there... www.theoscommercestore.com
are nice and are ready to go after some picture changes.

osCommerce (http://www.oscommerce.com/) is a free script you can grab it at thier site (Download (http://www.oscommerce.com/solutions/downloads)) or you can install if via the Site Manager depending on your package.

osCommerce Store (http://www.theoscommercestore.com/index.htm) sells templates for the free script. Actually it looks like when you buy the template it comes with osCommerce as the download. You still must install them on your account.

the template does come with the script for the store. i found a nice template thats why i figured id go with the commerce store. ive been playing alot with templates and now i have a better idea of how they work and ive been reading up on CSS.

it all should work on west host, yes?? i went with the business pro.

Hey Lisa,

I do not see why you should have any problems with it. The Business Pro package supports oSCommerce. You also have support for both shared and open SSL which would be the only other thing I can think of off the top of my head that you might need access to. Shopping carts are not my best area so I may not be that much help in this venture but there are some others on the forum that have a pretty good grasp of them. If you keep both sites bookmarked I think you will be ok. They seem to have very detailed documentation.
