View Full Version : Installing Miva with my own SSL?

Hi - I already have an SSL cert installed on my account - I don't want to use shared SSL. How do I go about installing Miva 5? I don't want to somehow botch my existing certificate

Does it force you to install shared-SSL? That's weird.

Regardless, I doubt it will "botch" your current cert. I've had both OpenSSL (with my own cert) and the shared-SSL installed at the same time, and I was able to use both without any trouble.

I think that they force you to install sharedSSL because not everyone has their own certs and you have to have a secure URL to your store. Having both openSSL and sharedSSL installed will not break anything but you can uninstall shared if you want. As far as setting up miva goes, all you have to do is change the secure URLs in the setup wizard. (ie instead of https://ssl4.westserver.net/yoursite it's https://yoursite)
