Edit: Offer Expired

If you use the free version of Opera, you already know you can pay to have the advert banner removed. There is another way, but it is only good during one 24 hour period.

The offer was good until noon on Wednesday, August 31, 2005.

Here is the link:
http://my.opera.com/community/party/reg.dml

On that page is a form where you enter your email address. Once you click Submit, you are taken to a page with the registration code for various operating systems, plus installation instructions.

The installation is simple and immediate. Your Opera browser probably needs to be online to do this, so that it can check the date and time.

If you don't have Opera, you can get it here:
http://www.download.com/Opera/3000-2356_4-10421507.html
or here:
http://www.opera.com/download/

But these sites may be rather busy at the moment as word of this spreads.

I first learned of this offer by visiting webmasterworld:
http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum21/10917.htm

As you may already know, webmasterworld is hosted on WestHost.

Enjoy life. Surf the web more often.

Cheddarmakerman,

Hope you got it in time. If not, the ad banner is not bad to look at, especially if you select Google text ads in preferences. I have it on reasonable authority that Opera makes this offer from time to time.

Two updates to my post above:

Webmasterworld switched to Rackspace last November, but does not list its host at the present time.

Opera 8.5 is now ad free and free for all:

www.opera.com/

On another subject:

Westhost's corporate site was not Opera-friendly in the past, is now Opera-friendly. Again, a big thanks to Westhost.

Edit: wmw about page lists Rackspace
