My website is http:/www.uncommongrounds.net hosted by WestHost.

I would like to add a blog.

We are all Mac OS X. Is there another WestHost customer who is all Mac OS X that has put up a blog and can recommend a good blog software application?[/quote]

I'm not exactly sure what Mac OS X has to do with this. Any blogging software that works on westhost should work for you. Personally, I use wordpress (http://wordpress.org).

Could you give more information?

I am primarily interested in blog software that has been a success for its users.

Thanx for your reply and the info. re: Wordpress

I've gotten into Nucleus: http://nucleuscms.org/

I like it, and it's done a good job. :)

Due to High Client interest, we have just begun adding WordPress to Client accounts. The process of deployment began this morning and will continue through the middle of next week.
Once your account has been updated, you'll find WordPress in the Site Applications section of your Site Manager under 'Community'.

Note that most blogging software and CMS systems offer an enhanced textarea with formatting and styling tools. This kind of text editor was introduced for the first time in IE WIN 5.5 (it's actually a Microsoft idea) and later in Mozilla.

To take advantage of such a tool under OS X, you'll need to use Firefox, Netscape or Mozilla to edit your posts (don't know about Camino or Opera).

Other browsers, such as Safari and IE 5.2 will display a regular textarea instead.

I use Wordpress. Very simple to install and use. And the nice thing with OS X, is that you can install mySQL on it and mirror or test your blog directly on your local machine.

my $0.02:

I also use WordPress, but I don't like the default (Kubrick) theme. As you can read here (http://binarybonsai.com/kubrick/), several features have been removed or commented out of the Kubrick theme. There are a lot (http://www.alexking.org/software/wordpress/theme_browser.php) of themes (http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/) out there and they are easy to install and use.

I also have WordPress and XAMPP Lite (http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html) (choose your particular OS flavor) on a USB drive I keep on my keychain. It is the handiest way I've found to have a local test blog.
