I have a domain with WH, mydomain.com. I would like to setup a subdomain, home.mydomain.com, to receive both html and mail requests separate from mydomain.com

I would like home.domain.com to point to an IP address, say 123.123.123.123, which is not the IP address of mydomain.com.

I believe that I need to add something like these records to the mydomain.com DNS zone:

home.mydomain.com. A 123.123.123.123
home.mydomain.com. MX 10 home.mydomain.com

(I do not need a backup mail server).

I have two questions:
1. Is the above correct and complete? If not, what is the correct solution?
2. Can I do this using the Control Panel? I have not had much luck with it so far.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have a look at this post:

You can't point your subdomain to an external IP in site manager yourself, but just request tech support and they will do it for you.
