Trying to install MySQL4 version 4.1.9 and during the installer is asks for you to enter your admin password. After typing them in, I get the message

"The MySQL4 install failed: ERROR: passwords don't match abcdef 0"

where "abcdef" is the password that I typed in plain text (not my actual password of course). But I have tried multiple times and I am positive that I am typing the same password into each box.

I figure this is just one of those issues that if you are patient and try again in a few days it will work but was just wondering if there is any explination. Reinstalling the older version of MySQL works just fine.

Thanks,
Mike

Are you using the same password as when you installed the old version? I wonder if it is somehow compareing with the old password although that does not make much sense. You might want to report it to WH tech. I doubt it is anything you are doing wrong.

Well it appeared to fix itself. Guess I just have to be more patient. Hehe.

I think they just made some changes because I was able to now get it to work also.
