View Full Version : Webalizer & site backup

I think that whenever I backup my site using the Site Manager 2.0, the Webalizer software (installed from SiteManager) keeps counting the backup-related hits.

I would like to pause Webalizer as long as a backup is being executed and switch it back on when the backup completes.

Do you know any way to do that, either manually or automatically? How can I turn on&off the Webalizer?

As far as i understand (although this isn't specific to Webalizer) the web log analyzing software is run periodically and reads in the web logs and extracts the data from them. So you need some way to turn off the web site logs altogether. You could, I guess, open up the apache config at /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf, turn off the logging facility, restart apache, do your backups, redit the config and restart apache again.
If you can be bothered!
