I've gotten ImageMagick installed, GD installed, and have been trying to install the Perl mod Image::Magick (PerlMagick), so I can use it with my Perl scripts. (WebGUI)

I've already configured my cpan as found on the board to install into my /perl5lib, edited my .bashrc and have installed other perl modules fine. Until this one, that is. :?

Here's the error I get in cpan:

first about libraries not found:
Note (probably harmless): No library found for -lMagick
Note (probably harmless): No library found for -llcms
Note (probably harmless): No library found for -ltiff
Note (probably harmless): No library found for -ldpstk
Note (probably harmless): No library found for -ldps
Note (probably harmless): No library found for -lXext
Note (probably harmless): No library found for -lXt
Note (probably harmless): No library found for -lSM
Note (probably harmless): No library found for -lICE
Note (probably harmless): No library found for -lX11

Then finally about two specific files:

Magick.xs:63:24: magick/api.h: No such file or directory
Magick.xs:66:28: magick/xwindow.h: No such file or directory
make: *** [Magick.o] Error 1
/bin/make -- NOT OK
Running make test
Can't test without successful make

Now those files do exist - they're in: /usr/local/ImageMagick/include/magick

I've tried adding these paths to the Makefile.PL - still no go.

Someone here has to have installed it here - any ideas? How did you get it to work?

Thanks!

Is your install of ImageMagick the one WH has or did you install your own version? I haven't tried to install Perlmagick yet but was looking at some of the info on it awhile back and it seems that I remember that you needed to install or configure ImageMagick itself with something when you want to run PerlMagick. I'll see if I can find where I was reading that and look at it closer.

You did do a make config first? There's usually a README file or documentation imbedded in the Perl module in pod format that tells you all the necessary steps. Certainly doing that would fix any system dependencies which this sounds a lot like.

I am encountering problems running any Perl script using ImageMagick. All my scripts bascially gives me an error like this:

perl: relocation error: /usr/local/perl/lib/site_perl/5.6.0/i686-linux/auto/Image/Magick/Magick.so: undefined symbol: perl_get_sv

I am just wondering if anyone gets PerlMagick to work ...

Thanks,
May Chan
