How can I set spam assassin to give a very high point value to messages that have a specific word in the subject or message body?

Here is example syntax for handling subjects and bodies:

Subject Rules
http://www.exit0.us/index.php/SubjectHeaders

Body Rules
http://www.exit0.us/index.php/BodyRules

Followup..

If you wanted that rule to apply globally across all accounts, put your rule in a file with a .cf extension (you can use this file to hold your custom rules), and place it in:

/etc/mail/spamassassin/

If you want the rule to just apply to one account, you could place your rule in the following file:

/ftp/pub/<accountName>/.spamassassin/user_prefs

SpamAssassin should pick up the changes automatically.

Hope that helps a little more..

I'm putting the following in my user_prefs

header RM_sp_AsLowAs Subject =~ /as low as/i
describe RM_sp_AsLowAs Subject contains As Low As
score RM_sp_AsLowAs 5.0

But spamassassin seems to ignore this rule. Any suggestions?

It should work...

Are you sure that it is saved in Unix format?

Try running:

/spamassassin --lint
and see if that throws up any errors. (You can run it from the shell or through the File Manager section of the Site Manager).
