View Full Version : Anyone using a Challenge-Response Email system

Hi Board,

I've been playing around with various options for SPAM blocking on my domain - lots of custom SA and Procmail tweaks, with fairly decent results. But now I've gotten to the point where most email goes directly to gmail, and I've just a few folks that still use my domain address.

So - I'd like to move to a challenge-response email system. I've looked at a few and decided to trying installing Active Spam Killer (ASK) :

But I'm running in to a problem with my virtual server - when I try to run the install script, I'm getting this:

./asksetup.py: import: command not found
./asksetup.py: import: command not found
./asksetup.py: line 31: syntax error near unexpected token `sys.path.append("/us
./asksetup.py: line 31: `sys.path.append("/usr/lib/ask")'

The install package is the tarball route. There are RPM options, but, of course, we can't do RPM on Westhost. It looks like a PATH env issue. Any thoughts on install? or perhaps a recommendation for another C-R email system?

Thanks a bunch!

Do you have the scripts installed in '/usr/lib/ask/' ??

It sounds like its not finding them there... although the 'command not found' is a strange error.

Strange to me as well. I figured there could be compatibility issues with WH - so I tried installing with a previous version of ASK (v. 2.2) and it installed quite easily!

So far, so good. I've set it within procmailrc as the first set of custom rules (before SpamAssassin). The testing continues...
