View Full Version : Does blocking spamer IP Addresses Save Bandwidth Quota?

In the Site Manager / Site Management / Ip Filtering. If I set up a rule to block all POP and SMTP access, does this also block incoming e-mail from the blocked IP address or does it only block the IP from logging into the server?

I am getting a lot of spam to my unchangeable yourdomain@yourdomain.com address and its counting against my bandwidth quota. I contacted westhost about changing the e-mail address but they said that they cannot change it due to installation software limitations.

It sets a block on the firewall (or ipfilter) so the IP is blocked from connecting at all.
So, if you know the IP address of who is spamming you, that will work.
