Comparing the site manager login & speed of processing the functions, nothing compares it with Firebird, IE is real slow, while Opera have a little annoyances here & there. This is only for PC based system.

Any off you all have the same experiences ?

Firebird rocks, PERIOD! :D

Wow... I just did some informal "testing" and Mozilla Firebird (Gecko/20031113 Firebird/0.7+ (Gcc 3.3.1 i686 optimized - MozJF)) logged me in and got me to the second page of E-mail/FTP Management 19 seconds faster than IE6. IE6 even had some broken images. Firebird seems to render the pages much, much faster - almost as if it were actually downloading faster than IE! Guess it might be pipelining in Firebird that really improves performance...

If you want the latest versions (may be unstable, but have the most bug fixes/latest features): http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/

If you want the latest milestone (most stable, least number of bugs overall): http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/

My recommendation (assuming you are using Windows): http://pryan.org/firebird/mozjf/MozillaFirebird%20-%20i686-gcc331%20-%2014-nov-2003.exe (more info: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=34891)

Lemme know what you think ;)

it's one of the fastest browser on earth especiall with the rendering of images, but opera is still best for me with it's effortless mouse gestures.

try it you'll never want an IE, Opera is wat u call surfing man...
but dont use it for the site manager, it's very buggy.

Have to say I went and downloaded one of the FireBird versions and boom installed very fast and I like many of the features I see so far. Well have to use it more!

but opera is still best for me with it's effortless mouse gestures.

Surely, you'll have to do better than that to come up with a reason for not using Firebird. :D

Anyway, I'm using Galeon (http://galeon.sourceforge.net), which is another Mozilla child, but this one is for the Gnome desktop environment (http://www.gnome.org). I haven't had a chance to play with the new site manager yet.

But mozilla is a bit heavy on the loading -- by then i'll have 4 different browsers :)
if i'm on a dual boot better still use galeon, netscape or konqueror ?
7 in all :)

I'm just trying out Firebird, and so far I like it better than Mozilla.
I seems to load text faster than IE6, but images load slower than IE6. I loaded the same page in both browsers and IE was a few seconds faster overall.
I dont have pipelining enabled yet, so maybe that will improve the load speed some more.

However, I like the tabs and extensions (such as the one that opens "_blank" targeted links in a new tab instead of a new window), skins, and other customizations.
