Non-tech here would like to ask although i've skim through the homepages of sendmail & procmail -
I would like to know if both is working hand in hand with each other or wat

& if I use neomail or IMP - do they use sendmail to to the stuff

Yes, procmail and sendmail work hand in hand (figuratively speaking!).

When someone sends an email to your site, it is received by sendmail, which first checks that the email is valid for this site.. The sendmail configuration file tells it that local mail delivery is handled by procmail, so it passes the email on to procmail. Procmail then, after following its rules, would normally drop the mail in the users mail location, which would be /var/spool/mail/user

Neomail is just a script that looks in the above spool location and reads the mails there. I think (but I'm not sure, memory fades on this) that IMP moves the mail out of the spool directory and creates its own mailboxes.
