View Full Version : Can't locate mailing list controls under 2.0

I set up a couple of family mailing lists just before the 2.0 changeover. Now I can't find the proper place to edit either the settings on the list or the membership list. What am I missing?

In the 2.0 it is being called a "distribution list". When you are in Site Manager do you see a user/alias with the old name of your mailing list?

Yes, but it no longer seems to react to subscription requests by either adding the address to the list or sending out the info message that's supposed to be set up for it. And I can find nothing in the manual referring to it.

Do you have MojoMail installed? It is under Site Applications >> Communication. I have not used it and do not have it installed. I am going to go install it on my test site and see how it works for sure so that maybe I can better help you.

In the manual the info on it is here

And the user guide is here

Make sure to scroll down on the users guide I did not realize I was in the right place and kept cliking on it again in the contents.

Ok I set up MojoMail. It takes a bit and you really have to read and pay attention. At one point it wanted my root password. This is the password I had entered in a window a step or two back not my Site Manager password. The almost threw me.

Also when I first installed MojoMail it moved it to the right hand column and then there was a "link" I could use to access it. The first time it took me through the rest of the setup. After that it took me to the mojo.cgi front page. At the bottom of that page was a link to Administrator that let me get to the log in to change things. During the setup process it did give links one straight to the sign in for administering the list and the other was to the archives where you could search and subsribe or unsubscribe to the list.

Just tested it and all seems to be working with MojoMail. I used one of my outside e-mail accounts and it sent the autoresponse asking me to confirm. When I confrimed it sent the welcome autoresponse.

Thanks, wildjokerdesign, for explaining how MojoMail works now! Your detailed comments were big help - especially about that "link" button.
