View Full Version : Spam Assassin

I've installed Spam Assassin on the 2.0 site manager. It's working in the sense that it's identifying spam. But it's not re-writing the subject lines, which makes it rather pointless - the emails come through and I don't know they're spam until I open them. What it used to do was label the spam so I could filter it out as it arrives.

Is this a general problem or something I'm doing wrong in my setup? It's setup up to rewrite subject lines when anything scores over 7, but it's not doing that.

Go up to etc/mail/spamassassin to the local.cf file.

You should have the following two lines in similiar form:

rewrite_subject 1
subject_tag **POSSIBLE SPAM**

Your rewrite_subject probably says true instead of 1. Change it and try that.

If that does not work go to .spamassassin folder to file local_prefs. Put the above two lines in it. (I have them in both places).
