when i design a web page with certain fonts on my computer then upload it to the server, when i go to another computer and check the site the font is not the same but on mine it's the same. i figure it does that because the fonts are on my computer and the server is requesting the fonts from my computer and they're there so they show up. is there a way to store the fonts on the server so the server has everything there, so when someone goes to the web site and a particular font is not there on there computer it's still on the server and the server will show the page the way it was ment to be shown ????

At this point I do not belive there is any true statndard. I pretty much gave up on it use Arial or create images when do want a specific font but you might want to try some of the ideas below.

You have to embed fonts in your web page. Ofcourse Netscape and Explorer had diffrent ways of doing it. You might want to try this link for an overview of the two techniqhes. http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/design/fonts/tutorials/tutorial2.html

IE uses Embedded Open Type and Netscape uses TrueDoc.

You might also want to try these links for infromation.

I imagine there are others but this should give you start.
