I am setting up a website for a church group based at a nudist community.
Because some people have a negative view of nudism, some church members wish to remain anonymous.
When a domain is registered it requires a name and contact info be associated with the domain.

Instead of registering the domain to "Jill Smith", can I register it to "ABC Church"?
Is it possible to have the owners address different than the billing address?
For example, the owner might be listed at "123 Main St", but the billing address would be another person at another address.

I will also be hosting the site on my existing WH server space.
Will I be able to add the domain to my account, even thought the registration info is different than my main domain?

Yes pretty sure you can register the domain using the church name. Owner and billing address can be separate. Yes you can add the domain to your own existing account. Just make sure to point the domain to the correct name servers here at WestHost. That is the same ones your own domain is pointed to.

Don't forget though that WestHost has strict rules about the posting of nude images on their servers.

I had one other thought. You might want to use a different registrant other then WestHost for them. For example I have some domains registered with whois.com and with their service I can hide my information so the public can not see it in a domain look up. Really wish WestHost would offer this. :)

WestHost actual does offer Whois Privacy protection. We have not offered Whois privacy protection in the past but started to offer it about a 1 1/2 ago. If you or others have any other questions you can visit this page: http://www.westhost.com/domain-registration/. Or I would be happy to answer them.

Also if anyone has any questions regarding our terms of service you can visit this link: http://www.westhost.com/policies/terms-conditions.html

Thanks

Adam

Thanks for the infomation Wildjoker and Adam.
The WH terms only mentions pornography. I do not think there will be any nudity on the site, and if there was it would not be pornographic.
It's a Christian church group.

The Whois Privacy protection is a great idea.
But I still want the whois info to reference the group and not me.
Even though I will be paying for, hosting, and designing for the domain, I want it to belong to the church.

How can I cancel a domain name?
It seems the name I registered for the church may have some trademark issues (I was mislead about that) and I'd like to cancel that domain.
Dont see anything in the faq about how to do that.

I think you'll need to contact WestHost via the support ticket system. More then likely it is going to be the billing department that is going to have to take care of this. It may simply be that you'll end up having to "hold on to it" till it hits it's renewal date and then simply not renew. I kind of doubt you can get money back for the registration. You won't be in conflict of any laws that I know of simply for registering the domain name if it is trademarked. In fact it is not uncommon for people to register domains they think might be trademarks so they can sell them to the owner of the trademark. It may be just as easy for you to contact the company that has the trademark and offer to transfer it to them for the price it cost you or more if you want.
