There was a conflict with the IP Address assigned to my account which caused a world of problems.

Because of the conflict, the DNS change I made for my account simply would not propagate through the DNS system.

After five extremely frustrating days working with DNS programs, I discovered the PHP function call dns_get_record(). This returns the DNS information from the WebSite's point of view including the TTL (time to launch) of DNS changes.

Calling the procedure from my web site showed that the DNS entry at westserver.net had a problem, and technique support was able to figure it out.

If you are having DNS problems, you might try running a simple PHP script with the command:

echo '<pre>';
print_r(dns_get_record('example.com'));
echo '</pre>';

where "example.com" is the domain in question.

Thanks for the information! I work with PHP quite a bit but have never had a reason to really explore this function. You really have to love PHP such a simple command for so much information. :)

Wow. This is good stuff! I tought DNS scripts are only set on those Name providers like GoDaddy or Hostgator. Or did you also set a manual zone file? http://imagicon.info/cat/6-22/1.gif
