Hi everyone

Is there a plugin for WHM available for host billing? I was looking at VPS.net and they offer Hostbill. Does Westhost offer the same solution?

Thanks
Chris

I don't think WestHost offers Hostbill as a part of any of their plans or if they do they are keeping it a secret. :) Hostbill is compatible with cPanel but don't know if we have access to everything we would need on a WH 4.0 account. It all depends on how Hostbill works. Both WHM and cPanel has an API that can be used and if Hostbill uses that API then I would think you could use it. I've played with some of the API calls in the past and for the most part they seem to be available in a WH 4.0 account.

I am hoping Westhost has a solution in place. From what I understand, there are many different cp plugins available but most of them have huge security issues... so if there is a system in place already, or at least one they have helped somone else implement I would rather do that then take any risks.

Thank you.

Thanks for letting us know! I try to keep up but sometimes I miss things. :) I am a bit curious why they do not have this listed as feature in their hosting plans. Seems like it could be a good selling point.

Thanks for posting the reply Kris, very helpful.

This is a good point and the reason why we're trying to design the pages in a easier to read way. HostBill is actually listed as an included feature on all reseller plans. Go to http://www.westhost.com/reseller-hosting/ and click on more features; you'll see it listed as the second item in the more features section.

Ok now I see it. I also see that Cloud packages have it. Dedicated packages list cPanel WHM as an add-on. Can HostBill be added to a dedicated package? If so would it have a monthly fee like the cPanel/WHM add-on. Sorry, just trying to understand all the options. :) I guess really with a dedicated server you can do anything you want really since you are the only one on it... or am I assuming wrong?

Can HostBill be added to a dedicated package?

Yep, any WestHost client (as long as domain IP is in WestHost IP pool) can have a free HostBill license.

Since we offer 2 types, managed and unmanaged, dedicated servers now they have different access levels. The unmanaged servers allow full root access so you can do whatever you want with it. The managed servers come with cPanel installed etc. and are fully managed by our admin team. This page shows the differences; http://www.westhost.com/unmanaged-vs-managed-dedicated-servers.html
