I currently use SSIncludes on a couple of sites and have changed the httpd.conf file to parse .html pages as .shtml.
1. Will I be able to continue this with Westhost 4.0?
2. Will sites that are so configured break when transferred to 4.0?

I can't recall for sure, and I did not use the feature during testing but I think there is an interface for extensions via cPanel that can handle this for you. We don't have access to httpd.conf anymore.

Yes, WestHost 4.0 with cPanel will continue to support server-side includes. Like the current settings, .shtml files will be parsed automatically.

You can use the Apache Handlers function in cPanel to assign the server-parsed handler to the .html file extension so that server-side includes work in .html files as well.

Thank you both. That was my main remaining concern with the switch to 4.0. The rest looks like it may even make life a little easier.
