Hi,

Some of our users have complained about problems Emailing us. When I check our DNS MX record I get:-

> jimsbeerkit.co.uk
Server: UnKnown
Address: 192.168.1.1

Non-authoritative answer:
jimsbeerkit.co.uk MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = jimsbeerkit.co.uk.j
imsbeerkit.co.uk
jimsbeerkit.co.uk internet address = 208.131.132.74

Note the "double" domain name in the mail exchanger section (in red).

What's that all about and how can it be corrected ? Checking the Main MX record in the manager control panel shows "jimsbeerkit.co.uk" as the only entry.

Thanks!

Dear Yorkiebar,

The reason you were having this problem of the double domain in your MX records was because you were missing a '.' at the end of your MX record. I have fixed your issue in your MX records for you. It will take a few hours for it to propagate in the DNS servers.

Hey Kevin, that's great thanks!

"Be sure to end your entry with a period, e.g. 'mail.mydomain.com.'"

Must read the small print in future

Dear Yorkiebar,

No problem! Yes, just remember that all DNS entries and MX entries need to end with a '.' at the end or it will not work correctly.
