Hello : I know that this is the most ignorant question, but rather than pondering my ignorance, I thought that I'll just get rid of it with some help . . .
So if my cgi bin is one folder above my domain as in /var/www/cgi-bin/
what public address do I use if mys script is residing in the main domain folder - a in var/www/html/formscript.html?
Thanks kindly, Eric

Well your actual "script" must be located in /var/www/cgi-bin in order to work. It also must end in .cgi or .pl in order to be executed by the server. That being said there is what is called a symbolic link in /var/www/html/ that is called cgi-bin that points to the one in /var/www/. That is so that in a web page you can point to the script with "/cgi-bin/examplescript.cgi" or "example.com/cgi-bin/examplescript.pl".

Thanks kindly. Too simple. I'll give it a try.
Thanks, Eric
