Try posting the error you get. It may be some as simple as having to force a directory or something.

Hi,

I am new to Red5. I am looking for an existing flv video player which I can use to play videos streamed using Red5 server. Can anyone give me a pointer.
I tried using the player provided by http://www.jeroenwijering.com/upload/player.swf. I am able to play flv files from filesystem but not able to play video streams from Red5 server. Below is the syntax i used to embed the player in HTML Page
embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.jeroenwijering.com/upload/player.swf" style="" id="pl2" name="pl2" bgcolor="#ffffff" quality="high" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="opaque" flashvars="rtmp://localhost/oflaDemo/DarkKnight.flv" width="420" height="250"

Thanks in advance.
Girish

Girish,

Is this on a WestHost account? Are you sure that Red5 installed ok?

I see two things about the code you posted. First you are pulling the player from the owners site instead of your own. You should upload player.swf to your site and pull it from there. Second your flashvars are not set correctly. You should include file=. See: http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=Embedding_Flash Even at that I am pretty sure that rtmp://localhost/oflaDemo/DarkKnight.flv is not correct for on your Redhat server.

This forum is specific to WestHost accounts for the most part so you might have better luck on both eht Red5 (http://osflash.org/red5) site and at the JW (http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=JW_FLV_Media_Player/) site finding answers. There is a help page for streaming at the JW player site: http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=HTTP_Video_Streaming

I see you have been over at the JW Forum asking about this also. It looks like kLink user might have given you an answer. JW Forum Reference Link (http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?thread=7248)

<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.jeroenwijering.com/upload/player.swf" style="" id="pl2" name="pl2" bgcolor="#ffffff" quality="high" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="opaque" flashvars="streamer=rtmp://localhost/oflaDemo/&file=DarkKnight.flv" width="420" height="250"/>

After installing Red5 server when I visit the URL(http://localhost:5080/), I get following error

"HTTP ERROR: 404NOT_FOUND
RequestURI=/
Powered by jetty://"

I'm facing this issue only in one pc. Its working fine in other pcs. I re-installed the red5 server couple of times but it did not help.

I greatly appreciate your time

Thanks in advance

I Am thinking about using this software on my VPS. But before I go ahead and try to install it. Can anybody tell me if they have installed it and had it working? And if so is there any chance of a "HowTo"?

Hope to hear from somebody soon.
