Hello,
Here is a short list of software I successfully compiled at WH 3.0 beta and that I found worthy to suggest as site applications:

- Mono ASP.NET framework (http://www.mono-project.com). The complete way to run ASP.NET on WH hosts. It required a few prerequisites to compile, but runs fine when done. This is definitely something a lot of users would be happy to see in the list of site applications.

- Trellis Desk (http://www.iftomatoes.com/trellis/). Open source PHP help desk. Like a bulletin board, it installs online into the web site. I am currently using it in production on my job site. Looks very promising.

- mnoGoSearch engine (http://www.mnogosearch.com). Open source website search engine, as alternative to existing Perlfect Search. It also includes a PECL module for PHP - I find this making mnoGoSearch more flexible than Perlfect.

- Subversion - svn (http://subversion.tigris.org), version control system, a replacement to CVS. Actually the version I built required a newer apr-tool (and hence Apache) than installed on WH3, but subversion client has finally worked fine, so I would suggest it for developer hosts.

Thanks
George

I also installed subversion during my testing and had to force it to install even though the apr libraries were not the correct version. It is running fine with mod_dav_svn, svnserve, and svn python bindings.

I also installed trac (it required so many dependencies it wasn't even funny). In the end it works great with mod_python on the default Apache 2 install WH 3 provides.

Overall I have been happy with the installation of the above applications. I am still working on install other applications of interest to see how well they perform in the new environment.

All of these links are broken

mono ASP.NET, mnoGoSearch and Subversion had a bracket in the URL. Try http://www.mono-project.com/ (http://www.mono-project.com/Downloads), http://www.mnogosearch.com/ and http://subversion.tigris.org instead ;)
and in the meantime,Trellis Desk has been sold and is now available from Accord5.com (http://www.accord5.com/products/trellis)
