Please find a way to have the autoresponder application take effect after the SpamAssassin application. The function is basically unusable if you have a significant amount of SPAM. The number of bounced auto-replies generated is too large.
Additionally, there should be a simpler procedure for activating it, rather than the five steps just to get to the message edit screen.

If they have the standard unix "vacation" on the system, you could get the effect you want by not using their autoresponder, and simply invoking "vacation" at the appropriate point in your .procmailrc

.procmailrc vacation reply
I was able to work around it, I was simply suggesting that the supplied application be improved, as it is currently not very useful.
vacation is not installed on the VPS, and in trying to find a solution myself, my attempts to install it found dependencies that are complicated to surmount. I did find an excellent procmail only implementation of vacation at the bottom of this example:
http://phd.pp.ru/Software/dotfiles/procmailrc.html
You have to uncomment the code, and change the email address values. Also remember to include the FORMAIL and SENDMAIL variable assignments from the top of the example. I added the -f [email address] and -F [Full Name] arguments to the $SENDMAIL command at the end of the code.
