    Default Cannot Place Order from Website

    My customers cannot complete an order properly. I just try placing an order and received the following error.

    Fatal Error
    Miva Merchant has encountered a fatal error and is unable to continue. The following information may assist you in determining the cause of the error:

    Error Code: MER-DTB-00423
    Description: Unable to encrypt key

    Site is http://www.yawdmart.com

    I received an incomplete email from authorize.net stating that an order was placed and my credit card is charged but i did not receive the detail of the order and the order batch in miva does not show an order.

    Default Same Error

    Fatal Error

    I thought I had everything on my site working again... but, I just encountered the same problem you had. Does anyone have a solution for this?

    Thanks to Chris at WestHost for this temporary solution to the error on checkout...

    What we *are* asking you to do is under Order Processing, in "Encryption", is to uncheck the 'Activate Encryption' box. The sole purpose of the encryption setup is to provide another layer of protection for your clients order information, specifically the credit card number. This overall isn't truly necessary as long as you use a *good* password for the Miva Administration such as 'DF*grks7', and not a poor password such as 'password'. Once we have completed the WestHost 2.0 upgrade, we will sit down and research what exactly is causing this and resolve the issue so that you can resume the use of the encryption function for your orders.

    Well... I don't see anywhere to do this... I don't see any ENCRYPTION thing.


    We are running Miva with LinkPoint Payment Gateway....

    Miva Merchant v4.16
    Miva Engine v4.0502

    This is the error we are getting at the last step of the order process:

    Unable to authorize payment: CC-2501: Unable to connect to SSL Server.



    ANY help would be appreciated!

    With 4.16 (or even 4.14), "Encryption" should be the first topic under "Order Processing", followed by "Create Batch".

    Default Found It - had to be logged in under...

    Thanks for your suggestion...

    I discovered that I needed to be logged in under secure mode for that link to show up.


    Discovered to that the box was already not checked so would already be OFF .


    I did however find out how to fix my problem
    Another forum user has the same error on theirs so I
    was able to figure out how to fix the issue.


    Had to change the port form 1139 to 1129 in the "Payment Configuration"


    Wow... I can actually sleep better tonight!

    (one of the 2.0 down-grade problems anyway)

    It's just sad that westhosers tech/support/ceo team doesn't set up a page that says something like:

    password issues:
    most problems are fixed by doing this...

    email problems:
    most problems are fixed by doing this...

    miva problem x:
    most x problems are fixed by doing this...

    miva problem y:
    most y problems are fixed by doing this...

    heck, anybody that has been following the forums (or ending up here from lack of support) can quickly see (after digging through topics and posts for several hours) that there are several problems that most people are seeing. this encryption thing being one of them.

    instead of sending out a lame email from the president (with little to no actual problems solved) how about westhosers sending out a mass email giving problem lists with fixes. this would probably solve a large amount of problems.
