Help with aspell install, please.

Could anyone help me install aspell on my server. I have some experience with Putty, but SSH is not second nature for me. I need more explicit install instructions than the ones found on the aspell site. If anyone knows of step-by-step instructions posted elsewhere, that would be great help as well. Thanks.

I download aspell. I am also quite confused about the installation procedure. Can someone help?

Don't think it is possible on our VPS. I have tried it in the past but not been able to get past the errors. No one has ever mentioned being able to get it running.

I use an alternative called phpSpell (http://www.master-technology.com/demos/spell/index.php) that uses a mysql database. The program also supports use of aspell so figure if this is ever figured out I can switch over. It was developed for phpBB but does work as a stand alone so you should be able to modify it work in other php programs.
