I'm still delicately venturing into reseller-land with WestHost, so please forgive this (perhaps obvious) question.

What is the major deciding factor when considering whether a client could be on a name-based package, versus an IP-based package?

Most of my clients don't do anything fancy. The most complicated thing for most of them is NMS-FormMail, if that. What is a good way to think about who needs an IP-based package?

Thanks, anybody, for the guidance.

Just 3 main differences:
1) Domain pointing (from external registars) is only possible with IP based accounts (since pointing can only done to IP addresses).
Before you say "who cares? Just use Westhost's domain reselling services", remember they don't support, say, IL domains.

2) Likewise with HTTPS pages. Only matters if you plan to use them.

3) Incoming e-mail providers may put your outgoing messages in spam folders or delete them, because when they ping your IP address (your SMTP's or the one from your "from" header, anyone?), it would lead back to Westhost and not to your domain.

(If you plan to ask me why those two values aren't merged, some people in Wikipedia insist there's a reason - you can see the discussions in both topics).
